St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Rectory - Egypt, Ohio

 St. Joseph's Catholic Church And Rectory in Egypt, Ohio. Built in 1887, this church is home to a small Catholic parish. Since its earliest years, St. Joseph's Church has been served by the Society of the Precious Blood. By the late 1880s, the original church building had become insufficient for the parish's needs. Under the leadership of their priest, John van den Brock, the parish erected a new church in 1887 at a cost of $5,000; designed by Anton Goehr. The tower was modified in the 1940s by the replacement of its spire with a small domed belfry. Church architectural style-Late Gothic Revival. The rectory was completed in 1912, a Sears design, at a cost $6,000 plus extensive labor on the part of the parishioners. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on July26, 1979.  St. Augustine Parochial School in Minster, Ohio is a historic Catholic school building in Minster, Ohio. Completed in 1906 in a modified version of the Italianate Villa style. The elementary school is related to St. Augustine's Catholic Church, which lies on the same property (this blog has this church previously posted). Initially it was built as a Parochial school, but was later opened as a Public Elementary school. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on July 26, 1979. GPS: 40.39510°N, -84.37889°W.

J.H. Manchester Round Barn and House - New Hampshire, Ohio

 The J.H. Manchester Round Barn, on Ohio State Route 385 between Roundhead, Ohio and New Hampshire, Ohio. The barn was built in 1908 by Horace Duncan for farmer Jason H. Manchester. Since then it has served the Manchester family for five generations. The barn is the largest round barn east of the Mississippi River at 102 feet in diameter. It has two tiers with the second tier 70 feet in diameter and a total of 88 feet in height with a domed gambled shingled roof. Architectural Style-Italianate. The house on the farm, with the barn, is a joint posting to the National Register of Historic Places of Historic Places on April 17, 1980. Delaware Post Office - Delaware, Ohio

Delaware Post Office in Delaware, Ohio. Built 1910-1911. When bids were opened on May 23, 1910, for the new post office, the successful bidder was the John G. Unkefer Company of Minerva, Ohio, which submitted an estimate of $57,484. The firm built hundreds of government buildings in the eastern half of the United States. Including site, construction, and furnishings, the total price tag for the new Post Office was $75,004.48. The Delaware Post Office Building is designed in the Italian Renaissance Style. When a modern facility was envisioned for the Delaware Post Office on Liberty Street, the building was vacated and purchased by Ohio Wesleyan University in 1969. Initially, OWU remodeled the interior to include offices, classrooms, and a gallery. The building was renamed Humphreys Art Hall in memory of Sallie Thompson Humphreys, a Professor of Art from 1905 to 1943. In 2000, the building went through another renovation, this time becoming the home of the Richard M. Ross Art Museum. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on December 30, 2019.
