Isaac Pollack House - Dayton, Ohio
Isaac Pollack House in Dayton, Ohio. Isaac was born in 1836 in Reidseltz, France and immigrated to Greenville, Ohio. In 1854 he moved to Dayton. During this time, Isaac Pollack and Solomon Rauh began a business partnership dealing whiskey and wine in Dayton from a warehouse on West Third Street. Eight years later in 1862, Pollack served as a corporal in the civilian Squirrel Hunters during the Civil War and was regarded as a hero after the Squirrel Hunters successfully defended Cincinnati from an attack by the Confederate army. After the end of the war, Pollack built the house in 1876. Originally located at 319 West Third Street, the house was moved and relocated at the corner of Monument and Wilkinson Streets. Architectural Style-Second Empire. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on December 16, 1974. GPS: 39.7586730° N, 84.1970530° W.
