Judge Henry Williams House, also known as the Dr. Hartley House in Troy, Ohio. House was built in 1870. Major renovation in 1884. Judge Henry William was a noted lawyer, prosecuting attorney and common pleas judge of Miami County. He presided over the trial in which George Mitchell, a black man, was indicted for the murder of his wife and became the only person ever to be hanged in Miami County on September 17, 1880. Judge William Henry eventually found the house inadequate and built a new office and residence next door. Dr, Charles A. Hartley moved to Troy in April 1892 and bought this house. He received his degree from Eclectic College in Cincinnati, Class 1871. He practiced in Kansas, and both Warren County, and Casstown, Ohio before moving to Troy. Later he became the county health commissioner. He died in 1925. Architectural Style-Victorian-Gothic. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on January 1, 1976.
