Third Presbyterian Church - Springfield, Ohio








 Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Ohio. Springfield's first Presbyterian church was organized on July 17, 1819,   and its second in 1860. As the years passed, the two churches began to gain members in the northern neighborhoods, and the Dayton Presbytery organized these members as Third Presbyterian Church on May 11, 1891. With over one hundred charter members, the congregation soon began planning to erect their own house of worship; under the leadership of the Russell Brothers firm, construction took place during the last quarter of 1893, and the new building was dedicated on January 28, 1894. Architect was Charles A. Cregar. Architectural Style- Romanesque Revival. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on January 3, 1980. GPS: 39.93278°N, -83.80556°W
