Arrowston, William Boal House and Estate, is an historic estate in the city of Piqua, Ohio. William K. Boal was the president of Piqua's largest employer in the late 1800s; the Favorite Stove and Range Company. He and his wife arranged for the construction of the house at Arrowston in 1887. After the death of one of their sons, Mrs. Boal no longer desired to live in the mansion and they moved to a smaller residence in Piqua in 1898. The original appearance of the house was in the Eastern Stick Style with elements of Queen Anne and Eastlake Style, as seen in the sepia photo above. Later owners expanded the property in 1929, creating a large estate around the house. This estate included the main house - a large Georgian Revival mansion, a stable-garage-apartment, gardener's cottage, and poolhouse and swimming pool, a hydraulic canal, and several other buildings and structures. Builder/Architect-A.M Fry/ R.Gilmore Hanford. Since that period of time, in 1929, the estate has been virtually unaltered from its original design. The mansion presently is a Bread & Breakfast Inn. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on February 8, 1980. GPS: 40.15360° N, -84.25941°W.
