Richards - Sewall House - Urbana, Ohio

The Richards-Sewall House is a two-story frame structural located in Urbana, Ohio. The house is believed to have been built as a simple rectangular plan of the Gothic Revival design in 1853 but experienced a major remodeling circa 1880. The renovation introduced Stick/Queen Anne style elements to the western exterior and a winged gable addition to the east. Although it was built as and is currently used as a single residence, the house has also been used as a dormitory. Its most significant resident was Frank Sewall, president of what is now Urbana University during the 1870s. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on August 14, 1995. GPS: +40.10353°N, -83.75503°W.
