Fayette County Courthouse in Washington Court House, Ohio. Columbus architect D.W. Gibbs was commissioned to design the structure. The firm of Gibbs and Company is responsible for the designs of several extant late nineteenth century courthouses in Ohio. The contractors for the building were J. North Brothers and Lichtenberger. Construction began in 1882 and the building was completed and occupied in 1884. Architectural style-Second Empire. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on July 2, 1973.
