Kiser Mansion - St. Paris, Ohio













 The Kiser Mansion and estate in St. Paris, Ohio. The Kiser's original estate included the following buildings and structures which were all Constructed from 1912-1913: the mansion, carriage house, small barn, water tower, and brick pump house.The impressive architecture and meticulous landscaped site have served as a showcase residence in the small town since. John W. Kiser died in 1916 just three years after the Kiser mansion was completed and left an estate worth approximately eight million dollars. Thyrza Kiser and her son continued to frequent the home during summer holidays until she sold the property in 1945. Only four sets of owners have possessed the Kiser Mansion since it was first constructed in 1913. The history of ownership is as follows: John and Thyrza Kiser (1913-1945), Harvey and Edith Crow (1945-1968), Charles and Emma Lou Rust (1968-2008), and Glenn Sullivan (2008-present). Architect/Builder is unknown. Architectural Style-Late 19th and 20th Century Revival/Classical Revival. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on February 4, 2011.
