Ohio Wesleyan University Hall-Gray's Chapel - Delaware, Ohio.












 Ohio Wesleyan University Hall-Gray's Chapel in Delaware, Ohio. The Hall was built in 1893, to serve as Ohio Wesleyan's primary administration building and lecture hall. In addition to offices and lecture rooms, University Hall featured the 2500-seat Gray Chapel, donated by David S. Gray in honor of his father, a pioneer Methodist preacher in Ohio. Present at the dedication were Ohio Governor William McKinley, and ex-President Rutherford B. Hayes. University Hall is an excellent example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. It was designed by J. W. Yost, an important collegiate architect. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on March 18, 1985. GPS: 40.29672°N, -83.06692°W.
