Ohio Wesleyan University Slocum Library-Hall - Delaware, Ohio
Ohio Wesleyan University Slocum Library-Hall in Delaware, Ohio. Built in 1898. The building's architect, S. R. Badgley, reputedly visited various college libraries in the east before incorporating their best features in Slocum Hall. In addition to class rooms and seminary space, the building features a large elliptical reading room with a stained glass skylight and balcony above. The limestone exterior of Slocum was executed in the Renaissance Revival style. The building served as the library till 1966. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on March 18, 1985.
